Dear NRA Trainer:

The NRA Education & Training Division has been working with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to develop a short lesson and materials for NRA Instructors to provide when teaching an NRA Basic Course. With this in mind, we are recruiting experienced firearms instructors like yourself to participate in piloting this important new program: the Suicide Prevention Toolkit for Firearms Instructors. We feel that the 12 Slides and script would add less than 30 minutes to a course.

From AFSP - As a firearms instructor, you can provide important information about suicide prevention to firearm owners. This toolkit will provide instructors with evidence-informed resources that you will be able to provide to firearm owners which will help save lives from suicide.

Pilot Program Details:
• Participating instructors will be provided a scripted PowerPoint slide deck to incorporate into at least 2 firearms courses.
• Participating instructors will also shape the final program before its public launch by providing a brief survey to participants and completing a brief survey each time the slide deck is utilized during the pilot phase.
